Getting a scholarship is a great help especially if you don’t have the means but you have the dream. Military spouses who wish to go back to school may take advantage of military spouse scholarships that will aid them with education expenses.

The Joanne Holbrook Patton Scholarship is one of the military spouse scholarships that help spouse of active, reserve and retired armies. Survey will be given to the candidates as well as a set of questions and essay that they need to answer. The result will determine who will be included on the scholarship program, which is worth $500 to $1,000.

The Alabama Spouse Scholarship Program gives free tuition for up to 3 years to spouses of army members who died in the service and suffered total disability while in the service. This program is also available to spouses of army members who are prisoners of war (POW) and missing in action (MIA). However, for the spouse to qualify for the scholarship, the army member must have lived in Alabama for at least one year before joining the army. If the army member is totally disabled, he must have lived in Alabama for at least 5 years before the scholarship application.

The Kentucky State Free Tuition Program For Military Spouses is another program that offers military spouse scholarships. Like the Alabama Spouse Scholarship, this program also gives qualified candidates free tuition for up to 3 years. It’s open to spouses of service men who died or got disabled while on service. The member must be a Kentucky resident upon application or was a resident of Kentucky upon time of death.

The Homefront Spouse Scholarship Program is another program that offers scholarship to military spouses. There are specific tests that the applicants will take. This will determine who will be included in the program. Only 37 applicants each year will be lucky enough to get a scholarship.
